No regrets... an early morning rant and epiphany by me
This is a rant, mostly for me, but maybe someone else needs to hear it, too. It was kind of an epiphany i had due to a conversation with a friend (thank you Ryan!). Comments, tidbits and two-cents are welcome/encouraged.
I'm tired of the same old same old. I'm especially sick of feeling bad about everything. Maybe it's just a Utah thing, but it seems that every time i turn around, i see someone doing better or making me feel like what i'm doing is insignificant. Looking "down" or even "up" on others is so terrible! Have you ever considered their situation? Each circumstance is completely different from the next. this makes us individuals. this makes us who we are. Why bother explaining yourself? Who is to judge? For example: I missed church 3 weeks in a row. It would have been nice to go but it just didn't work out that way for me. It's ok!!! I don't feel bad about it and no one should make me feel bad about it becuz i had my reasons.
We are all equally loved in God's eyes. Yes, He loves you and He loves me. I know this. I also know that He knows us each by name and not only understands but has placed us each in our specific circumstances. Talk about taylor-made/designer lives! He's the Master! Everything was hand-picked for you becuz you can grow from each experience and each will make you a better you.
Anywho -- crap happens. I mess up, you mess up. You may not even mess up really... maybe you just could have made a better choice. It's lame to linger on those things. learn from your mistakes and move on. make better choices in the future. don't compare yourself (which is incredibly hard advice for me to take). really, no one has the right to judge you.
Quick tangent: In this world right now, so many people judge others on their looks, especially weight. Our society is rampant with "models" of what we "should" look like. Maybe others have an actual reason they are on the heavier side. Maybe it's mental or genetic. Have you ever considered that? (yeah models n' crap really hit a nerve with me!)
Life is for living. Live it up! Life should be fun and exciting, not numbing and boring. If your life is lame, do something about it. (But don't expect it to change all at once... baby steps!!!) Be playful. Dance. Do whatever makes you happy, whatever that is. As long as you're not harming yourself or others, make it happen. I like driving (fast preferably) while listening to music and car dancing. It strange but it works for me so that's what i do whenever I can. We all get bogged down in our everyday stuff... but make the best of it.
Let stuff go!!! It's okay -- I give you full permission to drop the ball if you feel that it is necessary! You absolutely do not have to be perfect at everything (or anything for that matter).
Listen to your mother, but break some rules! Have experiences and make memories! Don't forget to lift others along the way. Everyone needs a little love, so share it; you'll receive more in return. People are dorks, but be nice to them anyway. Maybe they just had a rough day and need someone to be friendly. Love others, but make sure to love and embrace yourself as well. Do your best, live your life and don't forget to say thank you!
You only have ONE mortal life.
Live it, Experience it, Love it. No regrets!
